Snagajob, America’s largest marketplace for hourly work, announced the full program for HourMinds 2017, the nation’s leading conference on the hourly service industry taking place May 15-17 in Charleston, South Carolina.
The event brings together nearly 300 franchise and corporate executives, directors, operators and hiring managers from across the services sector to share successes and challenges and build action plans that address critical employment needs.
Watch the preview:
Danny Meyer, CEO of Union Square Hospitality Group and Founder of Shake Shack, will serve as opening keynote for this year’s event. Meyer, one of TIME Magazine’s 100 Most Influential People and bestselling author of Setting the Table, will discuss the importance of hospitality for any business and how to achieve success by putting people first. Sheila Lirio Marcelo, Founder, Chairwoman and CEO of Care.com, the world’s largest online destination for finding and managing family care, will provide the closing keynote address where she will discuss the changing role for employers in providing meaningful employee benefits to attract and retain hourly workers.
Eric Chester, award-winning speaker and best-selling author, and Samir Goel, Business Leadership Program Associate at LinkedIn, will serve as featured speakers. Chester will discuss how to ignite passion and prevent burnout by creating a culture that inspires employees to work harder, perform better, and stay longer. Goel will share insights from a recent Snagajob and LinkedIn report that analyzes the companies’ respective data sets to determine patterns that reveal the best career pathways for hourly workers so employers can better understand what motivates and fulfills them.
Other key topics that will be discussed at HourMinds include industry and labor trends, the current and future state of the hourly workforce, company culture, sourcing and hiring best practices, compliance, employee engagement, and the successful adoption of technology to improve hiring strategies and workforce management. Snagajob executives will also be on hand to provide insight into the company’s product and consultancy services as well as capture feedback to help shape future products, design and strategy. As in past years, there will be a Genius Bar with Snagajob product experts on hand to answer questions and offer tips and tricks.
“I am constantly looking for ways to improve how we connect with workers and make smart – but quick – hiring and employment decisions,” said a Human Resources Manager who has attended the conference in the past. “HourMinds is the perfect place for me to meet with my peers and experienced and dedicated professionals to talk all things hourly. It is just the right amount of time, very focused, and a ton of fun.”
“Every year at HourMinds we strive for our attendees to walk away with insights about what’s working, what’s not, and where we need disruptive thinking in the service industry,” said Peter Harrison, CEO of Snagajob. “This year is slated to be our biggest and best yet as it marks the first time we will have Snagajob and PeopleMatter customers all under one roof since our merger last year. At HourMinds, compelling conversations, thought-provoking stories and actionable advice will be shared across the full employment lifecycle.”
