Charleston startup ALIS Health is set to join 200 female founded companies from across the US at Project Entrepreneur in New York City from April 6-8. Selected by Rent the Runway and UBS Bank, ALIS Health’s founders Amy Dye and Kerranna Williamson are representing the only startup selected from South Carolina to participate in the two-day intensive. Finalists for the Project Entrepreneur pitch competition were chosen from applicants across 75 cities.
Launched by Rent the Runway Foundation in partnership with UBS, Project Entrepreneur provides female founders the tools, training and network to scale, economically impactful companies. The event will provide founders access to speaker sessions led by Spanx CEO and Founder Sara Blakely and CNN’s Poppy Harlow, as well as workshops led by Carley Roney, Co-Founder of The Knot/XO Group; Marla Beck, CEO and Co-Founder of Bluemercury Inc.; and Hayley Barna, Venture Partner at First Round Capital and Co-Founder of Birchbox, among many others.
“The connections they will make and insights gained from these two days will be invaluable as they begin to scale their companies,” said Jennifer Fleiss, Co-Founder of Rent the Runway.
“It’s a great opportunity to present ALIS Health on a national stage while learning from today’s industry leaders,” said Kerranna Williamson, Co-Founder of ALIS Health. “In a time of rapid growth, learning from those who have been there, done that is priceless.”
ALIS Health is bringing the next generation of women’s health diagnostics to market. Driven by a women-led sales force, they work with innovative, small to mid-size clinical laboratories to deliver advanced diagnostics to those who need it the most. The company believes that innovation in diagnostic methods offers the hope of better treatments that are more affordable, accessible, and painless.
ALIS Health will broadcast live on April 6 at 6:30 EST from Rent the Runway headquarters on their Facebook page to give supporters and aspiring entrepreneurs an inside peek of the event’s activities.
“We’d love to give our friends and family back home a taste of the excitement and encourage greater participation in next year’s event,” said Amy, Co-Founder of ALIS Health. “We’re thrilled to join some of the nation’s most innovative entrepreneurs and hope that this is an opportunity to pull more women entrepreneurs up in the ranks.”
