Charleston-based cybersecurity firm PhishLabs, a leading provider of 24/7 phishing defense and intelligence solutions, has named Tony Prince its new Chief Executive Officer. Prince succeeds PhishLabs founder John LaCour, who will continue to be fully engaged with the company as its Chief Technology Officer and member of its board of directors.
Prince brings more than 20 years of senior executive experience to PhishLabs. Prior to PhishLabs, he led multiple market-leading technology companies as CEO. Prince founded LURHQ in 1996, among the industry’s first Managed Security Service Providers (MSSPs). LURHQ was merged with SecureWorks in 2006. Since then, Prince has served as CEO of M3 Technology Group (merged with Azaleos), Healthx, and InteliSecure.
“I’m incredibly excited to join the PhishLabs team,” Prince said. “PhishLabs has talented people, powerful technology, and an unbelievable passion for fighting cybercrime. I’m honored to join the leadership team and guide the company to new levels of success.”
PhishLabs was founded in 2008 by LaCour, who established PhishLabs’ early success, driven by its unique capabilities to fight cybercrime. As CTO, LaCour will continue to focus on driving innovation across the company’s technologies and services.
“I founded PhishLabs out of a passion for disruptive innovation. Several months ago, I decided to return to those roots and take a more hands-on role working with our clients and guiding the development of our services,” LaCour said. “I’m pleased to bring in Tony Prince as our new CEO given his deep experience leading high-growth technology firms, his commitment to delivering world-class services, and his strong desire to see employees thrive. I look forward to partnering with him to continue to deliver on our mission of fighting back against phishing.”
